Notes from 13/11 RTI Meeting

Notes from 10/4/2010 RTI Meeting

9/13/10
Feedback on End Year Collaboration Form:
*Nice to have the written record
*Helpful for checking after you've had the kids a few years
*Some teachers add the pics and that helps
*On the back...top part can be a little cumbersome but it is important (maybe if we filled it out as we go, quarterly perhaps-even if you brought it to your collaboration meetings or jot down after the meeting...what if we had a late start and part of it was devoted to filling in the form?)

BOOST:
We think we have a new grant person! Can we find out who this is? Then we can see if we could get some grant money for Boost (both math and reading).

What is our goal for RTI this year?
*Boost in place (Kathy will talk to Tom)
*Where are we with math RTI?
*Behavior plan-put in the underpinnings of this system
*A consistent time to work on our RTI planning/goals?
*Plug into calendar for late starts time to work on those goal sheets (maybe the week after collaboration meetings)

*discuss with Kippy our RTI goals and have that be part of our EL work*

Tom, can Beth P and Kathy talk to you about Math RTI and how to move forward?

R. Allington-Beth K. noticed that of the 10 important things we need for success there were 4 right off the bat that she couldn't make work because of scheduling. Maybe we can be more proactive about our schedule for next year. Maybe the RTI team could take this on to try to design something that would work better. Having a framework of things we need, then we can look at how to make it happen. Could we add another book on RTI? We need some buy-in so any schedule that allows from change doesn't get blown out of the water.

Are there any schools doing before/after school tutoring? How do they pay? It it being proven effective?

AGENDA: OCTOBER 4th is next meeting (November 1, December 6, January 3, February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2, June 6)
*K and B will report out on our talk with Tom
*Roz will read Allington's book (and Beth K already has)
*Report out from PBIS team on first workshoop
